SC - ASET is a state chapter of the ASET - The Neurodiagnostic Society, the largest national professional association for individuals involved in the study and recording of electrical activity from the central and peripheral nervous systems.

ABOUT the ASET of South Carolina

Organized in 2017, The South Carolina Chapter of ASET’s mission is to provide leadership, advocacy and professional excellence for our members, creating greater awareness of the profession, and establishing standards and best practices to ensure quality patient care. Headquartered in historic downtown Charleston, South Carolina, the members include technologists, students, physicians and institutions involved in EEG, evoked potentials, polysomnography, nerve conduction studies and related neurodiagnostics from around the state and the southeast. As a membership organization, SC – ASET advances the neurodiagnostic profession by:

      • Offering opportunities for continuing education and registry renewal
      • Endorsing the best standards of practice and as a result, improving patient care Promoting the profession
      • Building coalitions with other allied health organizations and communities of interest; and
      • Protecting the careers of END Technologists in the state by pursuing legislation which will make us licensed healthcare personnel protected by state law.

SC Chapter of ASET is a volunteer, not-for-profit entity organized under section 501(c) 6 of the IRS code. It is incorporated in the state of South Carolina and maintains headquarters in historic downtown Charleston, SC. The Society governance structure includes a policy-making Board of Trustees, committees and task forces common to most professional societies.
